What is the climax of this novel? What happens? How do the events of this novel make you feel?

As you know, Ender’s Game is a very interesting book and brings the reader in to the world of science fiction. There are a lot of stresses, conflicts and surprises in the book. In my opinion, there can be two climax, but I decided to choose the climax where Ender discovers that he was actually fighting the buggers, and was not playing the game. This has brought great surprise and there was no turning back, because he has already killed all the buggers. This is a BIG irony for me, because this 12 year old kid destroys the whole race of buggers with his little fleet. And it wasn’t like any fair war, because the buggers were thousands time more than Ender’s army.

As I was thinking of the climax, another cllimax-could-be popped out. When Ender chose to fight the buggers, it WAS a point of no return and Ender knew it, because he had to leave his home for a looooooong time. However, I found the “ironic” climax more like a climax, because what had to be done was done. If you read the book from the beginning to the end, the events are very science fictional. There are words that truly desribes the novel such as interesting, full of conflicts, struggles, surprising, and competitive, because of the games in the Battle School.

Some of the significant events are when Ender wins the fight with Bonzo and also when he discovers the larva of the queen, because its like the only hope for the buggers. You might be thinking that a significant event can be when Ender wins all the battles in the Battle School, but as you see it was very expecting. In fact, isn’t he the chosen one? Winning is pretty much expected from the “chosen ones” One big example is Christ. Christ one them all!!!

I agree with your climax but I think you could have given more informaion why that was the climax. You could have also written that the lives of the pilots cannot be saved again. Once they are dead they are dead. They are not like Jesus Christ.

Another good piece of information is that Ender cannot be the person he was before the Third Invasion. He is wanted dead. Ender cannot also return to earth because Peter(his own brother) wants to use him as a weapon. This means that if Ender wants to return to earth, he has to live under the power of Peter.

I like it how you thought of two different climaxes in this blog. It made it look different from other post I've read...
I also kind of agree on your climax too. If there was no real climax I would have chosen this climax as my conclusion.

I like how you said that the this climax is becuase Ender really has killed buggers. I agreefully on this.

I AGREE!!! This is the neato of the story! The Grand slow down! I believe that this is one of the greatest climax of all the books i've read! Card uses his unique techniques to follow through and really surprise the reader at the end! Ender has no choice but to go on and to fight, which was his biggist mistake, Ender was not happy at all when he noticed that he was fighting the Buggers, but wouldn't we have made this mistake if we were in Ender's shoes??
neato neato

I agree with you that the part where Ender realizes that he was actually fighting the bugger all along is the climax. Actually, I might take a step back and say that the part where Ender does his suicidal act on the great fleets using Little Doctor is the climax. I think that is the point of no return because he could have chose to win or not to win. He chose to win and defeated the buggers. After that he finds out it was the buggers and this may be more like the falling action and a little bit of the climax.
I like your thinking of how there may be two climax and how you think that the place where Ender chooses to fight the buggers might be a climax. It's an original thought and I like it, just one thing. Remember that a lot of rising action events have to happen to lead up to the climax. That's why the choice you made is probably the one and only right climax of the story.
